Some Skin in the Game
Well, the reaction was a bit better than I thought – a fair number of guns drawn, but nobody actually shot me. The stormtroopers sure did a number on my synthskin, and that left my cyber revealed. Unfortunately, our rapid departure meant that there was no time to replace it, and having strips of synthskin hanging off the metal was creepy enough. So I stripped off the damaged bits tried to buff out the biggest dings to the underlying metal, while calculating our hyperspace jump to meet with the Corellian.
When I went back to the med-bay to get the organic components repaired, well, a bunch of folks pointed blasters at me – even though the robe should have covered most of the damage. Well, guess I will hang in the background during negotiations – maybe get Lissa to make me a mask? I guess I could just wear a helmet, but the Rebellion ones leave the face exposed.
Anyway, if my teammates’ reactions are any indication, I am probably even more hideous than I thought. Good thing Lana can’t see me right now – not that she would recognize me. I guess being dead is a benefit in this case, though I do wonder how she is doing…I’m sure she has moved on by now.
And speaking of moving on, we need to get some plans solidified – I think the best approach is going to be shielding the Neutron bulk freighter, filling the forward end with massive shaped charges (talk to Fuse about that!). Then, we jump in system with the Waltz and any needed distractors, to get final coordinates for the freighter to make a precision jump right into the Praetor.
That way, minimal complications – though the Interdictor is out there somewhere…should talk with Lissa and RH to see about an alternate route in system – I suspect if we came in elevated and spinward of the main route, we should have an advantage – or die horribly. Again.
